Throwback (Tech) Thursday | The Caller ID

Remember the first time your family got caller ID? It was amazing to know who was calling before the phone was answered.  And when you were away (we didn’t have mobile phones then), you could see who called, even if they didn’t leave a message.

That technology is second nature today, but was a “must-have” back in the ’80’s.  Well, maybe it’s time you get excited again…

Introducing the Shadow PiXL. It’s like caller ID for your website. It doesn’t matter if they fill out the form, we’ll be able to gather their information. Is it an exact science? Of course not…just like people learned how to hit *67 before they dialed, they have VPN and other resources that will allow someone’s information to not get collected.

But here’s what it doesn’t do…it doesn’t use cookies. So the apple privacy issue is a moot point. The Shadow PiXL collects somewhere between 40 and 60% of anonymous visitors to your site. I’m sure you’re doing the math in your head right now. Without the technology, 100 visitors gives you nothing. With the Shadow PiXL, you can expect to receive 40-60 records complete with name, address, email, and more. Many will even have a cell phone number scrubbed against do not call.

So what happens to the data you collect? Great question. The data is yours to keep. At minimal, we can funnel it into your CRM for you to analyze or use as an audience on your next marketing campaign. If you want to be a really savvy marketer, you can use our marketing automation and have direct mail and a sequence of emails sent to them within 24 hours of them visiting. We can even generate a custom audience and start a Facebook campaign to encourage them back to your site to finish shopping.

If you’re interested in adding this technology to your website or just want to learn more about the Shadow PiXL, visit www.directmail.io/pixl.
