Love at the office?

Happy Valentine’s Day! As you can see, I’ve taken this opportunity to discuss the topic of “love” today. Not love in the conventional “boy meets girl” type of love, but love as it pertains to your job.

Does greatness equal passion?

I believe greatness comes from passion. Your greatest sports heroes always talk about the extra time and the relentless effort they put in to achieve their goals. It’s something dreamed about when they were kids…something they were passionate about. So I ask you, are you passionate about what you do? Do you love your job?

Do people at DirectMail.io love their jobs?

I asked a few key employees what they loved about working here…of course most of them said, “working with you Mike, you’re the bomb.”  I told them I needed a better answer, one that was actually true :).  Here’s what they said…

I’m starting with me because I thought of this project and I don’t like to ask anyone to do something that I’m not willing to jump in and do myself. It’s honestly very challenging to pick one thing that I love about working at DirectMail.io. Shawn (the CEO) and I have been working together for over 15 years, and over the past 10 years, our passion has driven the creation of DirectMail.io. We’ve put together a team (more like a family) of super-humans that I would match against anyone on the planet. I love coming to work every day because I know I’m going to be greeted with crazy unrealistic challenges and a team that is willing to prove the world wrong. A team that believes in each other and the mission of what we want to accomplish.  It’s exciting to be part of something that you’re confident is going to grow into the next big thing.

I love our team and our customers first and foremost. Life is about people, the interactions we have with them, and the impact that experience leaves. I love our culture and our camaraderie. I love that our mission is not focused on ourselves but focused on unlocking the potential that lives inside of each of us. The potential for an individual to step out on their own and experience the American Dream. That’s a lot of love.
